Cadet and Captain are undoubtedly the two birds that have made the Meulemans so popular in this country. Their distinctive muscle, feathering, and eyes have set the standard for Meulemans.
Cadet was a son of the original Meulemans Kadet, perhaps the most famous pigeon bred by the Golden Pair. Cadet had an intense pearl eye and full bouyant muscling with excellent feathering. He carried the recessive red gene and had a small frill. He was not as large as many of his brothers. As a breeder, he consistently produced very uniform offspring. Most of all, Cadet was intelligent and stamped his physical characteristics on his offspring for generations.
His youngsters were exceptional flyers, winning First Combines and specials for us, but their breeding prowess was even greater. Amongst the many successful results, a son bred the First Place Snowbird winner.
