Janssens are thought of as sprint pigeons, performing best at distances of up to 300 miles or eight hours on the wing. We have cultivated a small winning family of Janssens that has helped us achieve repeated All-American status over the years. All our Janssens go back to the Golden Vos of '76, who traces back to the original Janssen Vos of '49. Our Golden Vos left his mark across the United States with an impressive string of super breeders. His best breeding son, 78-858, then took over in our loft. The children of 858 have in turn bred winners for an additional four to five generations.

We are excited about the three most recent impact pigeons in our Janssen stud, De Bijter (The Biter), Mr. Motion, and The Slate. De Bijter, a purebred Janssen, has a phenomenal flying record against major competition. He is truly a rare find. Mr. Motion, a grandson of the Vos of '81, has bred winners with a variety of hens in Europe. Genetically, he fits in very well with our high performance colony of Janssens and will be a bird to watch in the coming years. The Slate is a grandson of the young Merckx. He is making his mark as a prepotent breeder across the country.
