At Hackemer Lofts, we have often said that key breeding cocks, no matter what their record or lineage, are worthless unless they produce. It's a tough standard, but it's also the only one that matters. As you can see, two of our cocks have met that standard yet again. On August 14, 1999, these three pigeons scored on a 150 mile race flown in the North Valley Combine, taking the first three positions in the Combine. The first two winners were off our super Janssen breeder, The Slate, a grandson of the Janssen Brothers' Young Merckx and one of our finest stud cocks. Demonstrating his potency, he bred these two gems with different hens. Third place went to a daughter of Andre, a Hofken-base pigeon who has a history of breeding winners, including a Registered AU Champion.

This isn't the first time these two cocks have made their mark. Check out these earlier headlines, and watch for more in the future.
