Hackspans have been the cornerstone of Hackemer Lofts for over 40 years. For decades they were known as all-around pigeons, flying all distances. They also earned a reputation as long distance pigeons capable of handling a hard day. After 20 years of close breeding, we found a special cock that picked up this family's speed without sacrificing the durability needed to handle the long, hot races. This cock is Andre, a Hofken-base pigeon.
Here we offer more evidence of this cock's impact -- 97 USC 0188, who just won a First Federation at 300 miles against 398 birds. Winning big races runs in the family. 0188's dam, a very close bred Hackspan with Andre as a grandfather, was Second against 1,779 birds in the 500 Mile Division of the 1998 Midwest Classic. Another granddaughter was First on the same race.
